General Appearance:

Though Starfire appears to be human for the most part, being an alien, she has a slightly different skin tone to humans, having a more tanned look to her than most people. She has a toned physique and though she may look weak to some, Starfire is actually incredibly strong, able to lift up heavy items with ease, such as buses or simply a large chunk of concrete. The most prominent feature of the young girl is her eyes, though green, they are a lot lighter than that of the average humans and have the tendency to glow whenever she is angry, though they also glow whenever she uses her star bolts. Another distinguishing feature of the alien girl is that she has long red hair that falls just to the bottom of her back.

Being a Princess of the planet Tamaran, Starfire wears her princess headdress, she also wears Tamarean armour that covers the majority of her body. Starfire wears a black cropped top which is form fitting and is sleeveless, she also wears a short skirt and thigh high black boots with a slight heel. Upon her hands are a pair of gloves that only cover the front of her hand to just before her fingers, the palm of her hand is not covered by the gloves and they reach to her elbows.

Starfire is usually cheerful and only on rare occasions is she ever sad, preferring to mask her sadness more often than not to prevent her friends from becoming worried about her. Her cheery disposition can sometimes annoy others particularly Raven, but the two are good friends despite disliking each others personalities at times. Starfire always strives to make sure that her friends are happy even if it would make her sad in the process, friendship means a lot to her and she become very distressed if any of her friends have a fight, acting almost as though it were her who had been in the disagreement. Starfire can sometimes be too accommodating of others allowing them to figuratively walk all over her and she will not say a word, much like when her sister came for a visit.

She wishes to know everything she can about everything and everyone, often offloading a barrage of questions to whichever friends happens to be nearby, although this curiosity is understandable because she is an alien it is also annoying to some at times, but the other titans have grown to accommodate her answering her questions to the best of their abilities. Her positive attitude is often a great help to the other members of the team, her usually optimism helping to raise the morale of her friends causing them to relax more in dire situations. Starfire is always willing to try new things with an open mind and sometimes goes where no other person would (for example drinking mustard), she loves to eat and try new foods regardless of what it is, and tried different concoctions in a trial to see what would taste good.

Her innocence can lead people to try and manipulate her, but this usually fails when her friends intervene. She is often worried that she will not fit in around new people due to her innocence, feeling that people will laugh at her if she says something unusual, but with a little reassurance from her friends she usually overcomes this fear with little difficulty.

Character History:

Koriand’r is a princess of the planet Tamaran she came to earth after escaping the Gordanians who had imprisoned her aboard their ship to be taken back to the Citadel as a ‘prize’. Upon reaching earth she met Robin, who she fought with briefly before he released her from the bonds about her arms, she kissed him, acquiring the ability to communicate with him. She was reluctant to have the help of Robin or the other would be Titans but after seeing how they protected her she allowed them to help saying that she was unused to people being ‘nice’ as this was not a word that was used on Tamaran. Koraind’r and the other Titans defeated the Gordanians and set up the Teen Titans, with the now named ‘Starfire’ choosing to remain on earth with her new found friends.

When Starfire’s sister arrived on earth with the supposed sole purpose of visiting her younger sister, Starfire realised how little she knew of earth and began to fear that her friends would abandon her for Blackfire merely because she had more knowledge of the planet and seemed to fit in far better than she did. It turned out that Blackfire had actually come to earth in the hopes that the Centari police that were chasing her would take Starfire instead, her plan would have succeeded had it not been for Robin’s timely intervention which led to Starfire and Blackfire battling, before Blackfire was captured by the police vowing to get even with her.

When the Titans went to Tokyo searching for the mysterious Brushogun they found they could not communicate with anyone and thus Starfire approached a boy kissing him for a brief second to absorb the language causing Robin to get very jealous. Later Starfire explained to Robin that the kiss was merely to learn the language, but told him that she understood that on earth a kiss means something more. Robin told her that they could not be more as they were heroes and this upset her greatly causing her to leave him alone on the building they had been on. Robin discovered that it was actually Commander Daizo of the Tokyo troopers who was behind all the strange creatures running around learning that he had used Brushogun to create them, At the end of the fight with the commander, Robin started apologising to Starfire for his earlier reactions when they were together, she merely told him to stop talking and the two of them kissed properly for the first time.

Roleplay Sample:

Night was beginning to fall upon Jump City, the sun paid its last respect to the skies as it sank down behind the clouds for another day to allow its sister the moon to take over to light the world once more. The beautiful arrays of warm colours were wondrous to see, so many oranges and yellows cast into one to make a brand new hue but one without name. As the sky began to darken the city lights began to switch on one after another, their luminescent glow shining in the distance. A delicate hand moved to wipe back tendrils of crimson hair from a pretty face, a smile was present upon the young girls lips as she watched the sunset gleefully emerald eyes shining brightly with her happiness. Starfire loved to watch the sunset, many a time when she would come up here onto the roof to get a better view, it was a little easier than watching it from her bedroom window at least.

The young alien girl let her legs dangle over the side of the roof as her arms moved to wrap around something in her lap which resembled a pink doll of some sort except it moved when she hugged it, it seemed it was not a toy after all but the familiar little grub who lived in the Tower, Silkie. Starfire had acquired Silkie thanks to Beast Boy who in a fit of panic had asked her too keep him out of sight after he practically ate everything within the Tower through hunger, of course it didn’t take long for him to be discovered but thankfully Robin had allowed her to keep him which she was thankful for. “Is it not a wondrous sight!” she cried ecstatically pulling the little maggot in close as a soft sigh left her lips, Silkie replied with a few soft gurgles which Starfire could only interoperate as a ‘yes’ considering she did not speak bug.

The young Tamaranean leaned back on the concrete of the roof, lying flat now with Silkie resting on her chest, it was so peaceful up here, and the silence was refreshing though she would much rather have enjoyed this sight with her friends, but sometimes even she needed to be alone if only to think. There were so many wonderful things on this planet, much like the fireworks that Robin had shown her once, though at the time she had thought that earth could possibly be under attack, as such things meant this on her planet, but Robin had assured her that this was not the case, and she had found comfort in his words. Robin always seemed to know what to say to make things right, and as she thought of him she could not help but smile. Silkie gurgled happily and nudged Starfire’s chin an action which was greeted with a gentle stroke across his back.

She continued to reminisce about her time on earth, her transformation when she had gained the ability to shoot beams from her eyes, that had been scary from the start, but she was glad that her friends had accepted her new power willingly. She had been through a lot since leaving her home, and although not all of it had been a joyous experience some things were well worth the awkward moments especially her time with Robin. She giggled lightly as she remembered the first kiss they had shared together, and whilst that moment was now embedded in her mind, she hoped it would not be the last kiss that would remain with her as she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep on the rooftop Silkie purring atop her chest.
